This month Applied Jainism conducted a special session on how to cure diseases naturally. Shree Pradeep Shah a senior NDS motivator, who has been living this lifestyle and enjoying abundant health explained the NDS concept as well as how it harmonizes with the principles of Jainism.

On our planet Earth, almighty creator has created lakhs of different species and made all the provisions to live Healthy, Happy  and Blissful life. We, the human beings, the highly evolved souls are highly diseased, despite tremendous growth in medical science.

Following are the major violations which only we humans have been doing since thousands of years.

  • Cooked food – Nature has already cooked for us with sun and moon light, by putting it on fire we convert it into dead food thereby making it difficult to digest and excrete resulting in toxins within the body.
  • Animal food – Nature has designed our body and digestive system for vegetarian diet (fruits, vegetables, and leaf’s). Animal food (meat, beef, egg, fish, chicken, milk and dairy products) are not our food. Mother milk is only for her infant child. Stealing animal milk and consuming it all throughout the life is against law of nature and cause for several diseases.
  • Acidic diet – We are designed for alkaline diet however our major diet consists of cooked food, grains, pulses, milk, dairy products, meat, fish, processed and packed food (acidic in nature).
  • Concept of Energy – Energy doesn’t come from food despite the same, believing food is a source of energy we tend to overeat.
  • Disturbance in digestion cycle – The 3 cycles of digestion are
    • 1. Appropriation (eating) 12pm-8pm
    • 2. Assimilation (digestion) 8pm-4am
    • 3. Elimination (of body wastes and food debris) 4am-12pm. Extended appropriation cycle from morning till sleep (~12- 14 hours) greatly reduces and hampers assimilation and elimination cycle thereby toxifying the body. Regular intermittent fasting and occasional full day fasting detoxifies the body. FASTING IS THE BEST MEDICINE.

UNDERSTANDING NEW DIET SYSTEM

Lakhs of people across India and globe have adopted this new diet lifestyle and successfully cured themselves. It’s a holistic wellness approach for Healthy Birth, Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Relationship, Healthy and Peaceful Exit. Here is a brief overview of NDS:

FOR HIGHLY DISEASED/ ROGI

  • 8 hours fasting from wake-up time, then green juices
  • Lunch – Green leaf’s, vegetables, and fruit juices
  • Dinner – Juices, salad if desired and juicy vegetable and fruits
  • In between Lunch and Dinner if required juice can be taken
  • Effectively 8 hours eating and 16 hours of fasting
  • AVOID MILK and DAIRY ITEMS

FOR HIGHLY FOODIE/ BHOGI

  • 6-8 hours fasting from wake-up time, then green juices in adequate quantity
  • Lunch – Green leaf’s, vegetables, and fruit juices in adequate quantity
  • If hungry intermittently, salads, fruits, juices, sprouts, and vegetable bhel can be taken
  • Dinner – 50% salads balanced 50% tasty, cooked vegetables, chapatti (bajra/jowar, avoid wheat and maida), dal-rice and other items to suit your taste.
  • AVOID MILK and DAIRY ITEMS

FOR YOUTH

  • Fasting time reduced to 3-4 hours’ rest same as above

FOR HEALTHY PERSON/ YOGI

  • Gradually go on reducing the food intake in accordance with physical work

Besides following the diet as above, following are the critical components of NDS:

SANJEEVNI KRIYA (ENEMA) – morning and evening enema has shown miraculous results and should be continued till desired results are achieved and then to be gradually reduced and to be taken as and when required.

SUNBATH

Find ways and means for 20-30 minutes of sunbath. Open places like balconies, building terraces, open gardens are preferred

FASTING

All religions have given significant importance to fasting for physical detoxification followed by soul purification. Fasting is the best medicine to cure any diseases. When we don’t eat, the total energy for digestion and excretion is focused in cleansing and rejuvenation of our body (Autophagy). Fasting can be on juices, water or water-less (air). Start with juice and gradually migrate to water and then to water-less fasting.

NDS DIET SYSTEM IS THE MOST AHIMSAK and ENVIRONMENTAL-FRIENDLY DIET SYSTEM.

In a nutshell, these are the key callouts of NDS:

  • Physical food is for physical replenishment of physical wear’n’tear of various organs. Physical food is not the source of energy. Deep sound sleep and deep meditation are our real sources of energy.
  • FAST FOODS – Avoid sugar, table salt, milk, dairy products, fried, roasted, baked, boiled, processed, refined oils, tea, coffee, alcohol, cold drinks, caffeine, packed and tinned food. AVOID OVEREATING. Eat in correlation to your physical activities and exertions.
  • Diet (TAPA), selfless service (SEWA) and meditation/surrender to almighty creator (SIMRAN) is the complete package for health and bliss.
